Special Inspection of Homework
In order to further strengthen the management of teaching routines, standardize the process of homework assignment and grading, accurately grasp the dynamic of students' learning situations, and promote the steady improvement of teaching quality, recently, our Senior High School Department organized a special inspection activity for homework of the 10th and 11th grade students. This inspection was chaired by Deputy Director Jiang Shengyou of the Senior High School Department. In the meantime, the subject group leaders of each grade formed a special inspection team to conduct a comprehensive and detailed verification, statistics and scoring of the homework of each subject.
To be concrete, the inspection was conducted in the classroom for rotating classes on the fourth floor of the Senior High School Department. Deputy Director Jiang Shengyou led the grade group leaders to strictly follow the department's homework inspection standards, who meticulously examined each item, from the scientificity of the homework design, the rationality of the question quantity, the quality of students' completion, the degree of writing standardization, to the timeliness of teachers' grading, the relevance of comments, and the implementation of error correction and feedback. Also, from the classroom's synchronous exercises to the unit consolidation homework, from basic training to advanced improvement tasks, the inspection team meticulously reviewed each piece of homework, recording the highlights and achievements, sorting out common problems, providing on-site feedback on optimization suggestions, and ensuring that the inspection was not a mere formality or a mere superficial exercise.
Furthermore, not only did this assessment check provide a comprehensive 'check-up' of students' learning outcomes at a certain stage, but also conducted a precise diagnosis of the implementation of teaching routines by teachers. Moreover, from the results of the check, it could be seen that most classes designed homework that is in line with students' learning situations and with scientifically reasonable stratification. More remarkably, students' handwriting was neat and standardized, with teachers' grading being meticulous and conscientious. Besides, the comments were both instructive and motivating, fully demonstrating the rigorous and pragmatic teaching attitude and student-oriented educational philosophy of the teachers in the Senior High School Department of Anqing Foreign Language School. Meanwhile, the inspection team put forward specific improvement suggestions for some problems such as uneven question quantities and insufficient feedback in the homework.
To summarize, homework serves as a crucial link between teaching and learning, which is also a direct reflection of teaching effectiveness. Therefore, Anqing Foreign Language School's Senior High School Department will continue to optimize homework management, solidify teaching routines, and promote quality improvement and efficiency enhancement through meticulous correction and detailed feedback, laying a solid foundation for the growth of students at Anqing Foreign Language School.
